Hi! My name is Robert Ruby, and Im obsessed with bringing music ideas come to life. Ive been a full-time freelance musician in Hollywood, Los Angeles since 2017, and its my dream job.

I just love working on music with classic soul influence. Especially with a gritty, analog sound, and a vibe that feels like a jukebox in a dive bar or a singer in a smoky club. Im influenced by Quincy Jones, classic Motown and Stax, Booker T and the MGs, as well as revival acts like Amy Winehouse and Nathaniel Rateliff.

Im lucky to have produced songs that have gotten 100ks of streams on Youtube and Spotify. I have helped dozens of singers and songwriters produce their songs, and written original music for musicals, mainstream video games, ads, and short films.

I work in a pro-level LA recording studio with top-of-the-line equipment. My specialty is classic sounds, timeless and vintage music with modern shine! I always put the focus on musicality. I'm really knowledgeable about music theory, melodies, and a huge range of genres across the world.
